For the 2012 RPM Challenge
In face-to-face interaction, we often find ourselves in a position where a response must be provided without time for contemplation. The result is a flat conversation that could have grown into a more meaningful dialogue had no time constraint been applied.
Just as often, after the encounter has passed, the brain finally concocts the perfect witty, chivalrous, or empathic retort after it has become temporally irrelevant. And since it didn't get said when it needed to, the brain just files it away for another opportunity that will never present itself.
These are Things I Should Have Said.
